Griff Rhys, the frontman of Super Furry Animals, the national band of Wales, and also a solo artist, has released his latest album on "Rough Trade"! Following "Babelsberg", one of the best albums of 2018, and "Pang!", an ambitious album made entirely in Welsh, this seventh album in two years is inspired by the biography of Mount Paektu, the highest mountain in Northeast Asia, which is home to the mysterious crater lake, Tianchi. The film was produced in LA with Mario C., famous for his work with the Beastie Boys and Jack Johnson, as the producer.The contrast between the mature songwriting of the first half and the psychedelic guitar solos played throughout the second half of the song links to the theme of the album. The nine tracks include "Seeking New Gods" and "Holiest Of The Holy Men," the title track, which is a bone-chilling song with a hook that spreads out, and "Hiking In Lightning," a strangely pop song that will make old fans jump up and down as they await SFA's relaunch." The album is the culmination of the career of a British rock legend who was discovered by Creation Records and has captivated the world with Oasis, Primal Scream, and My Bloody Valentine, and now has reached a new peak as a man who continues to break new ground. The Japanese CD version of this album includes the bonus track "Tropical Messiah" and comes with a bilingual lyrics and commentary. This product will be available for sale on Friday and will be released at the same time worldwide.
