"The Miracle of the Jacks" (released in 1969), the second album by the Jacks—the pioneers of Japanese rock—released after the band’s breakup, is being reissued on vinyl for the first time in 30 years since its 1996 LP reissue. The Jacks were a unique, solitary band born in Tokyo in the late 1960s, possessing a striking originality that defied categorization as folk, GS, jazz, or new rock. Upon the release of their debut album, *The World of the Jacks*, guitarist Haruo Mizuhashi left the band, and Hiro Tsunoda (now Tsuda★Hiro) joined as drummer. However, during the production of this album, Yoshio Hayakawa left the band; of the 11 tracks recorded, Hayakawa provided vocals on six. The remaining tracks were handled by the newly joined Tsunoda. On the tracks where Hayakawa did not participate, the departed Mizuhashi and Kazuhiko Kato also contributed, resulting in an irregular lineup. By the time this album was released, the band had already disbanded. Although this album was created amid such chaotic circumstances, the overwhelming atmosphere of tracks like “Fallen Angel Rock,” “Flowers Bloom,” “Roll Over, Yuranosuke,” and “The Enemy Is Far Away” continues to deliver a fresh sense of impact even today. After leaving the Jacks, vocalist Yoshio Hayakawa released his solo album *How Uncool It Is to Be Cool* in 1969 and went on to run a bookstore. He resumed his musical activities in 1994.
