This is a tribute album to Ian Stewart, the early pianist of the Rolling Stones, by the brilliant British pianist "Ben Waters". The Stones members who supported the concept of this album, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts, and Bill Wyman, as well as new and old Stones members, participated in this album and fully backed up the album. Ben Waters is a boogie-woogie piano player in his mid-thirties. He has performed with many top musicians while working as a solo artist, and is highly acclaimed by greats such as Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones), Chuck Berry, and David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) for his skill and technique. Ben's skills and techniques have also been demonstrated in the solo band of Charlie Watts of the Stones. Ben's album "Boogie 4 Stu" is a tribute album to the late Ian Stewart (aka "Stu"), an early pianist for the Stones. The album features a selection of songs by Ray Charles, Big Maceo, Jimmy Yancey, Big Joe Turner, and many others, centering on the American black music that Stu loved before his death.The Stones' members, including Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Jules Holland, a member of Squeeze and a popular TV host in the UK, and Ben's cousin, PJ Harvey, participate in this album, and their respect and love for Stu can be clearly heard in their playing. Two bonus tracks are included on the Japanese version only.
