Mysterious and diverse composer Schnittke, a collection of violin works,,Violinist Chiharu Taki, whose previous album "Prokofiev Story" was highly acclaimed in various fields, is the second Schnittke album of note. Schnittke is a representative composer of the latter half of the 20th century who came to Germany from the former Soviet Union and established "Diversified Formalism. The album includes the "Violin Sonata" with its unique mystique and enormous heat, the "Rondo" which reminds one of Mozart, the ironical "Silent Night," and a film music piece filled with Schnittke's sense of style. Chiharu Taki's technique is also brilliant, and she expresses the music sensitively and straightforwardly. Yoshine Numazawa responds with a vivid and passionate performance.
