The art of Raphael von Kabel, a benefactor of the unknown history of Western music in Japan at the dawn of the 20th century, will be performed as a "dream collaboration to weave culture" by Keiko Takii, a musicologist, Asahikawa-so social welfare corporation, and Nagai City in Yamagata Prefecture, in a three-way joint project "Nagai The first of the three, "Nagai Series," will be a new project. The first project in this series will focus on "Nine Songs" by Raphael von Kabel, a benefactor of the history of Western music in Japan during the dawn of the 20th century. Kabel fostered young musicians such as Rentaro Taki in the Meiji era and rooted Western music in Japan. Makiko Yamashita, one of Japan's leading mezzo-soprano singers, will face this dramatic and spiritual collection of songs head-on and sing them in high spirits. Please come and listen to her soulful voice. Also, pay attention to the piano performance by Takaya Sano, who displays a wide variety of tones and advanced techniques. The booklet also includes comments written by the artists themselves, bilingual lyrics, and commentary on the songs, all of which are of great documentary value.
