Jazz vocalist Kaori Kondo has been based in Paris since moving to France, performing live and recording extensively. This album is an authentic jazz vocal work recorded at Studio 7eme Ciel in Paris alongside talented musicians active in France. On piano is Hiroshi Murayama, who has been based in Paris for many years. Joined by Saba Medan on bass and Philippe Soara on drums, the album features 14 tracks centered around jazz standards. Rather than competing for flashiness, this album carefully captures the breathing space, the stillness, and the lingering resonance of each note that arise between the singing and the instrumental performance. The natural swing cultivated in the Paris jazz scene, combined with Kaori Kondo’s warm and refined vocals, invites the listener into a deep, quiet world of “the blues.”
