Mioko Yamaguchi's three original albums "Toki Sakashima", "FLOMA", and "FAIRYTHM" are now available in long-awaited analog format! This is the first full-length album to be released since the internationally acclaimed 1983 classic "Tsukihime"! This album, positioned as a sequel to "Tsukihime," is a magnificent work that further advances the unique worldview of "Tsukihime" based on the concept of "fairy fantasy" while maintaining its quintessential Japanesque, oriental, and Japanese-western blend. The updated sense of melody is fully demonstrated on this album, and the beautiful synth sounds are a delight to listen to. The "synth-pop genius" has teamed up again with Hideki Matsutake, who participated in "Dream Flight," "NIRVANA," and "Tsukihime," to weave a new tale. The intro sound effect evokes a deep night forest, the tense melody develops from the chorus with more depth and power, and the superb mix of East and West in "Forest of Spirits" foreshadows the beginning of a "bewitching fantasy".The title track, "Toki Sakashima," with its theme of "a journey back in time," is a beautiful ambient pop song that beautifully expresses a mysterious worldview, as if falling into the water or diving to the bottom of the world, and the well-crafted sound design. The song "Koi ha karage shi natsu no yoru / Ton-Ten-Syan" is the final part of the "Japanese Trilogy," following "Matsuri" from 1980's "Dream Flight" and "Satte Ten-haru Yumezakura" from 1983's "Tsukihime" featuring Japanese instruments, and the sound of the word "Ton Ten Shan" and the "Shamisen x Synth" sound is a vivid impression. The sound of the word "Ton-Ten-Syan" and the "Shamisen x Synth" sound give a strong impression of Japanesque pop. The song "Exotic Butterflies" is the most danceable number on the album, and is a perfect balance of ska, oriental, and other multinational elements. The minimal music and floating voice effects of "Elf Circle," which depicts the "dance of fairies," transports the listener to a different world. The album's keyword, "Yoko," is strongly expressed in "Yoko no Hana," an oriental ballad characterized by transparent synths and melancholy violins.The title track "Tsukihime" is followed by "A Grain of Happiness," a dazzling techno-synth-pop song with dazzling pop particles and shimmering songs. This work, which began with "Forest of Spirits," is sublimated into a single story by the closing track "Forest of Spirits Prologue," which is the counterpart to "Sakashima," and announces the "prologue" to a new story.
