Akika Miyazaki, a talented pianist who studied in Paris and was captivated by Messiaen's music, has a new charm that will bring out the third installment of her project to record all of Messiaen's solo piano works: "Eight Preludes," Messiaen's first published work, which she says she feels deep attachment and affection for, and "Elderberry," a large-scale work comparable to "Birds' Catalog. Akika Miyazaki, piano, graduated from Toho Girls' High School of Music and Toho Gakuen School of Music, and then went to France to study at the Conservatoire National de Region de Paris. While in school, she won many national and international competitions, including the Pittina Piano Competition Special Class National Competition, 2nd Prize at the Medoc Aquitaine International Competition, Special Prize for Contemporary Music at the Ferdi Lilli International Competition, and a prize at the Contemporary Music Performance Competition "Competitive Music IX".He graduated from the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève with first prize. After graduating at the top of his class from the Conservatoire de Paris with a unanimous special prize, he went on to graduate with a concert diploma from the Conservatoire de Genève. He has performed regularly in France, Switzerland, Spain, and other European countries, including recitals at the Centre Franco-Japonais de Paris, and has appeared on NHK Educational TV's "Super Piano Lesson: The Light of French Music" with Michel Bellof, and on Shonan Cable TV. She has performed with orchestras such as the Orchestre National de la Conservatoire de Paris and the Tokyo Universal Philharmonic Orchestra. Studied piano with Tomoko Yamada, Keiko Takeuchi, Jean-Marie Cotet, and Pascal Devaillon. In 2011, after living in Paris for 10 years, she moved to Tokyo and gave recitals at Oji Hall and Hamarikyu Asahi Hall, which were well received by various publications.He has been active both in Japan and abroad as a soloist, chamber musician, member of the new style pianist group "Paris 5," and invited to the Asean-China Festival as a contemporary ensemble.
