The Cleftones, a doo-wop group of mixed male and female voices formed in New York City, are best known for M-1, a bold pop arrangement of a standard by Hoagy Carmichael, which became a big hit in 1961. The song, which continues to be loved as an oldies masterpiece, was also used as an insert song in the movie "American Graffiti," and many people may remember it as an important song played immediately after the scene where DJ Wolfman ■Jack appears in the movie. This 2-in-1 release also includes the group's next album, "For Sentimental Reasons," which was released the same year.
