Sunny Boy Williamson II, a harpist who was shrouded in mystery, yet ran his entire life as a major harpist. (He is different from Sunny Boy I and John Lee.) This disc is compiled mainly from his days with Checker Records under the umbrella of Chess Records. This is a permanent preservation disc that captures the vitality of Chicago Blues from its early days to its peak (1951-1964), including M-4, which features an outstanding blues harp that creates a unique world, M-7, which reprises one of the greatest songs of the trumpet era, and M-8, which reveals the vigor of the heyday of the band.
