In the mid-1950s, Rock 'n' Roll reached Mexico, a country neighboring the United States. At first, rock 'n' roll was just a form of dance, but after the 1958 riot at the screening of the Presley film "King Creole," it became a form of "rebellion" for the upstream and middle-class youth due to the banning of the film. Basically, rock and roll covers by Mexican groups became pop music rewritten with harmless Spanish lyrics, but Los Locos del Ritmo was the first band to attempt original rock and roll. Their first album, "Rock! Con Los Locos Del Ritmo," was later called "the best rock and roll album made outside North America in the 1950s" by Billy Miller and Miriam Rinna of Norton Records.I hope you enjoy this powerful Mexican rock and roll.
