The popular children's book "The Story of the Bear Kingdom that Conquered Sicily," published in 1945 and illustrated by Dino Buzzati, one of Italy's most famous literary figures, has been reborn as a vividly visual animated film in 2019, nearly 80 years after its publication. The film is directed and graphic designed by the Italian director, who is also the director of the film. Directed and graphic designed by Italian-born Lorenzo Mattotti, who now works in France, the film is produced by Prima Linea Productions, also of France, which also produced "Red Turtle: The Story of an Island" (2016). The beautiful and warm images, which combine hand-drawn and computer graphics at an advanced level, are like candy for the eyes to savor forever. The film has been well received at film festivals around the world, including official screenings at the Cannes International Film Festival and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and won the Grand Prix at the 8th New Chitose Airport International Animated Film Festival in 2021 in the feature film category.Children and adults around the world will enjoy the dynamic, fast-paced adventures of these cute bears and the deep insights into human society that lie behind their adventures.
