Description:
The most beautiful violin sound. The virtuoso Naohisa Fukayama sings works from France, Belgium, and the Ukraine! The virtuoso Naohisa Fukayama releases an album featuring the violin sonatas of Ravel and Poulenc! After graduating from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Fukayama became the concert master of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra while still a graduate student at the same university, and has since served as the concert master of the Shinsei Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra. He is currently a soloist. In addition to his solo activities, he is currently contributing to the training of younger musicians and has been invited to serve as a jury for the Japan Music Competition and other prominent competitions. In recent years, opportunities to perform the sonatas of Ravel's last works by young writers have been increasing. The sonata by Poulenc, a representative of 20th century France, is a beautiful work that shows Ravel's character in many places. The pizzicato of the violin is a thrill at the beginning of the work. The beautiful melody is so beautiful that you will be moved to tears. Fukayama also gave an emotionally rich performance of the difficult unaccompanied "Ballade" by the Belgian-born Ysaÿe and the beautiful violin sonata by Lecoux. Then, she played a small piece by Ukrainian composers Skolyk and Lysenko, which is a meditation on peace. Together with Masao Tachinataka on piano, who captivates with his outstanding technique and rich expression, Fukayama will sing works from France, Belgium, and Ukraine. The love for French music that runs deep within the performance, the careful attention to detail in the timbre and dynamics of the work, and the love for the work performed were again strongly felt" (Takuya Katagiri, from Liner Notes, King International)
