The album is as bold and visionary as his best work. The first single and album opener, "Memory of You," was co-produced with Youth (Killing Joke) and features backing vocals from Holly Cook.A propulsive post-disco torch song, a neo-noir composition of lustful vocals and stylish, menacing synths, it is one of Stewart's most dramatic and haunting performances. Like much of Stewart's work, this song defies conventional wisdom and expectations. 'There's a way to use a love song as a Trojan horse. "There's a way to use love songs like a Trojan horse," Stewart said, "to sugarcoat the poison and get into people's hearts. At first glance, the song is about "If I Loved You," but it's really about longing and dreaming of a better world. For me, "love" is a political act. Youth says: "'Memory of You' is a song about a dream. Memory of You shows that Mark was not only a great singer, but also a great songwriter....
