In fact, "Can Live in Keele 1977" is the recording of the performance most requested by fans since the start of this live series. The long-awaited release of this live performance is finally available. Live in Keele 1977 is a dynamic documentary of the late CAN, recorded in March 1977, featuring core members Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebzeit, Michael Karoly, and Holger Schukai, plus Roscoe Gee ( Traffic) on bass. His addition freed Holger Schukai from his bass duties and allowed him to play "sampling & sound effects," and here he presents otherworldly sounds and samples. 1977 is considered a difficult time for CAN. This is because their eighth studio album, "Saw Delight," was critically acclaimed, and although their reputation later improved markedly, the reviews at the time of its release were very harsh. However, as journalist, broadcast writer, and author Jennifer Lucy Allan notes, "Fans know that, as long as you're not a fan of the band, you're not a fan of the band.Both various fan meetings and the books that have been published agree that '76-'77 is the best time for CAN to perform live (including the Kiel show). And several tracks from this show have been included on fan-made "best of" live bootlegs over the years. (When you listen to this piece) you'll know they're right." He said.
