A solitary trumpeter based in Paris since the 70's. He has been active in Japan and France since then. He continues to perform energetically between Japan and France, and his first domestic release in a long time is a collection of standards under the name Okiji 6. The members include Naohiro Kawashita, who is known for his work with Fedaine and Shibusan Known Zu, as well as other well-known players in Japan, and they perform an impressive array of standards over two discs. The standard music is naturally not a simple one, but the performance is very different from the norm. The piano trio, which serves as the core of the performance, creates a stable and fast groove, on top of which the two winds and guitar play freely, and while they play freely, the melody never breaks down. intoxicate (C) Shingo Katakiri
