Two girls meet at an art school and immediately fall in love. They fall in love with each other's talent and pop music. PIPIOLAS' first album, "No hay un dios" (No Eye Un Dios), which changes from dream pop to house to techno pop in every direction, will be etched in our memories like a scene from a coming-of-age movie. PIPIOLAS is a girl duo released by Elefant, a Spanish indie label that has been producing quality techno-pop such as Milkyway and La Casa Azul. PIPIOLAS' retro-futuristic sound, which resonates with the 90s mood and style of millennial pop icons NewJeans, is surprising, moving, and heartbreaking. PIPIOLAS is no exception, and their future as new icons is sure to be a hot topic of interest. Born in the 90s, Adriana Ubani Alvarez and Paula Reyes Morillas met at art school and studied choral and lyric singing during a theater course.As they each pursue their own artistic paths, Paula, who has experienced a broken heart, suggests writing a song for Adriana, who has similar sensibilities and singing voice to her own. From there, the project progresses rapidly like a roller coaster. Vau Boy, a musician and producer influenced by Japanese techno-pop and game music, reached out to the girls and made their Y2K flavors more pronounced and tasteful. Their 2022 debut, "Narciso," begins with a dramatic introduction that evokes a theatrical background, then transitions into techno-pop as it unfolds dramatically over the course of four minutes. The next track, "Clubde los 27," is a slightly whimsical, extraordinarily romantic number that builds to an exhilarating, epic ending. Thankfully, these two debut releases are included as bonus tracks on the Japanese edition. Un pocotriste :(", a slow song perfect for the melancholic mood at the end of summer, is also included on this album, and is a good piece with an alternative essence similar to PACKS, an up-and-coming singer-songwriter from Toronto.Other singles like "Baby" and "No Soy Un XoXo," which were released as singles, allow us to enjoy the mellow, urban pop sound that the girls are known for, while dream pop like "Cancion De Amor Para Ti," which is reminiscent of M83 and Johnny Boy, makes our hearts beat faster and we are immediately captivated. The big, dreamy pop of "Cancion De Amor Para Ti," reminiscent of M83 and Johnny Boy, will make our hearts beat faster, and we will be instantly captivated. Pogo En Casa" and "Romancero Propio" remind us of the Icerinkk label, which English pop maestro Bob Stanley of St. Etienne started as a sub-label of Creation in the late 90s. The girly and sophisticated club music based on UK garage and Jersey clubs, such as Oval and Golden, will be taken to the next level by NewJeans and PIPIOLAS, which I mentioned earlier, and will be passed on to the next generation.
