In the team competition, Mizusawa High School won the championship for the first time, defeating Fujisaki High School, a school that always wins. Chihaya successfully underwent surgery on her right finger, which was injured in the team competition, and she joins the summer training camp at Fujisaki High School with Taichi. Undeterred by her advisor, Mr. Sakurazawa's spartan instruction, Chihaya trains hard for the Meijin and Queen tournaments, only to discover that her participation is in jeopardy... Meanwhile, Shin realizes that having a team will expand his potential in karuta, and begins to work toward establishing a karuta club. A new rival appears, future career paths, dreams of becoming a queen...
