Description:
The debut album by BASTARDSKULL, a four-piece thrash metal band from New York, USA. Featuring members with long-standing careers, the album delivers a straight-ahead, pure thrash sound. The band was formed in November 2022 at a Mercyful Fate concert held at the Kings Theater in Brooklyn. John Blicharz (g: BloodFeast, Dusk, etc.) happened to reunite with his longtime friend Tom Lorenzo (b/vo: BloodFeast), and they were joined by drummer Mark Mari (Sneak Attack) and bassist George Kostadimas. Tom set aside his bass to take on vocals. Recapturing the raw intensity of their Annunaki days—when they opened for Carnivore and Deicide and sold out a show with Immortal at BB Kings—the band explodes with George’s intense bass lines, Mark’s thrash-style drumming, and Tom’s passionate vocals. Recorded and mixed in the summer of 2024 at BandMotherRecording, engineered by Mike Sabatini (Attacker). Mastering was handled by Alan Douches, who has worked with Nile, Dying Fetus, Obituary, and others. The band members describe it as a work they’re proud of, calling it “the best album we’ve ever made.”
