A collection of choral works by Latvian composer Vasks, who celebrated his 70th birthday in 2016. All of the pieces on this album were composed after 2010, and three of them, including "Da pacem, Domine=Lord, give us peace," which was performed at the 70th anniversary concert, are new works from 2016. The music of "Da pacem, Domine = Lord, grant us peace" is a "cry of despair of the age, a prayer for a mad world," the solemn atmosphere of "My Lord, my God" with a mystical text from 15th century Switzerland, and the permanence created by the beautiful organ melody and the chorus repeating "Laudate Dominum" are all new works in 2016. The title of the album, "Praise the Lord," is also felt in this piece. The solemn beauty of the final part of the song, which turns into "Alelulia," is truly representative of 21st century prayer music.
