Description:

The "Requiem" is the masterpiece of Mozart's lifetime. The edition in which Mozart's pupil Jussmeier supplemented his unfinished work is the most common, and Jansons also performs it using this "Jussmeier supplemented version". The soloists in this program are all Mozart soloists who specialize in Mozart's music and are active mainly in Europe. Among them is tenor soloist Mark Padmore, who appeared frequently during the 2016/17 season and sang eloquently in this Mozart. Jansons' performance is both powerful and sensitive, and together with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, he sings with awe of death and overwhelming joy of faith. Naxos Japan
