Even Vladimir Horowitz, the famous 20th century pianist known for his superb technique, described Chopin's Op.10 and Op.25 exercise collections as "difficult for me, and to be honest, a horrible collection of pieces. Rubinstein, Backhaus, Cortot, and Arrau, the greatest pianists of the 20th century, all had their own unique interpretations of these pieces, but overcoming the technical difficulties was an extremely difficult task. However, times have changed, and performers' skills have improved dramatically. In the 21st century, it is commonplace to play these pieces, and many pianists are now playing them boldly. Amir Katz is a pianist who has been actively working with Chopin's works for some time. He has released albums of ballades and nocturnes, all of which have received high acclaim.Katz, who is very particular about tempo setting, performs the entire piece, even in this Chopin exercise, with a precise calculation that gives the impression of "harmony of the entire collection".
