Born in Düren, Germany, pianist Lars Forkert has been the director of the "Spanungen Festival" (Power Plant Music Festival) since 1998. He is a pianist who has performed numerous chamber and solo works. He has released chamber music by Brahms and Mozart and Bach's "Goltberg Variations" on the ONDINE label, and his polished performances have attracted many fans. With a wide repertoire, Folkert and Schubert are also great favorites, and another collection of improvisations (D946), which he recorded in 2007 and released on another label, has become a strong favorite. This album is unique in that it combines the "Improvisations" and "Musik und Dancing" with six German dances, and Schubert's overflowing, beautiful melodies are performed with Fauckt's unique lyricism.
