Since its international debut in 1991, the University of Texas Wind Ensemble has earned a reputation for its innovative performances and programming. For this album, the ensemble has pursued excellent sound quality (surround sound playback is preferred when possible) and succeeded in creating a realistic sound as if one were listening to a live performance in a concert hall: Bryant's concerto, in which three groups are arranged to envelop the audience; the flutist's The second movement of Bryant's concerto, in which three groups are arranged to envelop the audience; "Shadow of Sirius," with its exquisite spatial arrangement of the flute players; and "Jade - Kingfisher," popular in Japan, where the trumpet is set behind the audience in the second movement, are also cleverly done. You will be astonished by the gorgeous torrent of sound that all the players unite in. Of course, you can also enjoy the high sound quality of the 2-channel version without regret. Naxos Japan
