At no other time was music in such full bloom. Wagner's chromatic progression gently prodigalized the music, and his successors, Mahler and R. Strauss, peeled off the softened skin and flesh little by little, and the audience at that time could feel it with a faint smell of decay. As the sound was finally destroyed, what emerged was unexpectedly cold but beautiful music of "twelve tones, atonal. There was no sweet sound, but a strictly disciplined architecture of sound. However, those who had a good heart also found "brilliant beauty" in it, and chose to master its structure. This album contains three of Schoenberg's masterpieces, a series of music born at the turn of the age. Performing on this album are artists led by the talented flutist Kazunori Seo.The sparkling performances by the players who have gathered here because of their love for Schoenberg's talent are both dignified and infinitely gentle.
