Stefan Temming... Born in Cape Town in 1987. He studied the recorder under Michael Schneider at the universities of Munich and Frankfurt. After winning numerous music competitions, he joined recorder ensembles and early music ensembles. With various contemporary composers writing pieces specifically for him, his playing has already been hailed as “truly masterful.” This box set compiles three different recordings from his career to date. The collection of Corelli sonatas, recorded in 2007, features superb accompaniment by Olga Watts; their outstanding technique, brilliant ornamentation, and interpretation have been highly acclaimed worldwide. In the second release, featuring Handel, he created an entirely new world by transposing opera melodies for the recorder. In the third release, dedicated to Bach, he employed a wealth of creative ideas to adapt Bach’s works for the recorder, performing pieces such as the French Suites and other harpsichord works on the recorder. His natural performance is so convincing that it creates the illusion that these pieces were “originally written for the recorder.” Here you’ll find a natural, effortless interpretation of Bach.
