Toujours Saxophone Quartet

Description:

The Toujours Saxophone Quartet’s Heartfelt Album It has been 23 years since the Toujours Saxophone Quartet was formed. Their long-awaited album is finally complete. Toujours’s motto is to create ensemble music that feels like a casual conversation among family and friends. This album by the Toujours Saxophone Quartet is packed with the joy of music—a labor of love. Toujours’ performances are captivating for their depth and warmth—and above all, they’re fun! Through the sound of the saxophone, they show us a sincere way to enjoy music. A wonderful album has been created! —(Composer/Arranger: Yosuke Fukuda) The word “Toujours” means “always” in French. An ensemble could be described as a musical conversation. Toujours’ music is not about doing something formal or extraordinary; rather, it’s about the kind of casual, everyday conversation you might have with friends or family. With the motto of presenting concerts that are approachable and easy to enjoy, we perform at salon concerts, school music appreciation events, workshops, and other venues. Formed in the fall of 1995. In 1999, we competed in the Super Classic Audition National Competition. From 2000 to 2016, we held six recitals. (At Toyonaka City Aqua Cultural Hall, Ishihara Hall, and The Phoenix Hall) Additionally, every November, we hold our annual “Always Sax! Special” concert series in the three cities of Osaka, Nagoya, and Tokyo. We passed the 2nd Osaka Prefectural Youth Center Emerging Artists Audition and received the Encouragement Award in the chamber music category. From 2004 to 2015, he organized “Relax with the Saxophone!” as part of the Great Hanshin Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Concert Series, receiving enthusiastic acclaim from more than 1,000 audience members at each performance. To date, he has commissioned new works from Tetsuyoshi Kushida, Tadanori Oshima, and Yosuke Fukuda. He has also contributed to the development of saxophone quartet compositions and arrangements.
