A true Svetlanov V.S. Strauss, a true Svetlanov V.S. Strauss! Svetlanov is fond of Strauss, and there are several recordings of him in Melodia. Strauss's unique style, which could be called the destroyer of symphonic works, his outlandish themes, and his use of unexpected instruments, were all appetizing to Svetlanov, a tyrant who could manipulate a full orchestra at will. However, the lack of good sound quality performances made it difficult to enjoy his interpretations. The "Life of a Hero," which finally appeared in the repertoire for the first time, is a unique and masterful performance with a slow tempo that gives it a slow, deliberate feel, like the steps of a colossus. The palette of tones is rich, and he boasts of his extraordinary ability as a Strauss interpreter. Svetlanov's "Alpen" with the Russian National Orchestra is only available on LP. The live performance with the excellent Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra is welcome because the orchestra is not strong enough to perform live with the Hague Philharmonic Orchestra.
