Master Kazuhito Yamashita Guitar Pieces 2021 - A Living Legend Reaching the Age of 60 This album contains 17 solo pieces selected from the live recordings of Kazuhito Yamashita's recitals held at Shirakawa Hall in January and October 2021. Kazuhito Yamashita, a world-renowned guitarist, is also known as a prodigy in arranging music, and he performed a series of old and new pieces. In addition to many classic arrangements, new arrangements for keyboard by Seixas, Telemann, Dacan, and Cimarosa, as well as the guitar arrangements of Janacek's "Tears" and Mussorgsky's "Tears" (both for piano), which no one had expected, were performed for the first time in 2021. Also included is "Little Romance," which attracted attention for its unexpected selection and performance. This was the first public performance of this piece in 50 years, since the 10-year-old Kazuhito Yamashita played it for the first time in public in 1971.By the way, Kazuhito Yamashita, who is said to have become a legend while still alive, is probably not well known for his unique style of playing a series of pieces different from the main program during stage rehearsals on the day of a performance, and such artists are probably hard to come by. Although he is known for his vast repertoire, it has recently come to light that there is actually another repertoire that is not featured on the stage. This CD also includes rare recordings of four songs that Kazuhito Yamashita performed on a whim during a closed rehearsal. *Please note that there is some venue noise associated with live recording.
