This is a re-release of the highly acclaimed but previously out-of-print WAONCD040, remastered in 176.4 kHz high-sampling PCM. With changes to the track order, this album has been enhanced for even greater enjoyment, bringing “The Delights of Dutch Baroque” to life anew. The program focuses on Dutch Baroque music. Just as it is today, the Netherlands in the 17th and 18th centuries—due to its coastal location—served as a crossroads for people of diverse ethnicities from across Europe. Amidst this, various cultural exchanges took place, and musical activity flourished. This album, which brings together music created in such a setting, vividly brings to life the essence of Baroque instrumental music. The name “Rusthoffers” is taken from Van Eyck’s *Der Fluyten Lust-hof* (The Paradise of Flutes) and means “Inhabitants of Paradise.” This is a delightful album that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the world-class ensemble of three up-and-coming early music performers: Mutsuyuki Motomura, Toru Sakurada, and Naoki Ageo.
