Description:
Ai Yoshida and Alex Guy, two authentic organists, have been long-awaited to release their new album, "A Time to Go Together", commemorating the construction of the Andrea Zeni organ at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oita, Japan. The title of the album is "A Time to Meet," and it features a selection of works by both Protestant and Catholic musicians from Germany and Italy of the same period, with a focus on J.S. Bach. Yoshida and Guy's performance is a moving encounter between 18th century prayer music and our own today. On April 18, 2018, a 10-stop pipe organ with two hand keys and a foot keyboard was completed in the chapel of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Oita, Japan. The creator is the Dolomites Zeni Workshop in the Dolomites Valley of northern Italy. This is the first organ delivered to a church in Japan by the workshop, which is highly regarded for its sound conditioning. Ai Yoshida, who lives in front of the Dolomites and is an organist, and Alex Guy have brought out the various tones of that organ in a fascinating performance. A unique current-transmission microphone pair was set up in the position where the organ is aligned, and the recording was made in DSD for realistic and dynamic recording. <Ai Yoshida was born in Tokyo. After graduating from Musashino Academia Musicae with a degree in organ, she moved to Germany. He received a diploma and a German national diploma as a performer from the University of Music and Performing Arts Lübeck and its graduate school with the highest honors. He was also awarded the German Church Musician Certificate at the Church Music Department of the same school as an overseas trainee artist of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He studied organ under Teruhisa Fujieda, M. Haselbeck, and L. Guillemi, and won prizes at international competitions in Maastricht, the Netherlands in 1996 and Lausanne, Switzerland in 2002. 2002-2006 he was the resident organist at Morioka Civic Cultural Hall, where he promoted pipe organ awareness. He currently lives in the Dolomites valley in northern Italy and performs extensively at organ festivals throughout Europe and in Japan. His solo CD "Bach and Italy" (Waon Records, 2010) was selected as a "special selection," "recommended," and "noteworthy disc" by Record Geijutsu, Ongaku Gendai, and CD Journal magazines. He is also active in teaching young musicians in various places, such as the "Dolomites Organ Academy". He is organist at St. Nicolò Church in Enea, South Tyrol. He is a member of the Japan Organist Association and the Japan Organ Study Group. <Born in Veneto, Italy. He studied organ and composition at the Conservatory of Padua and received his diploma with the highest marks. He also studied classical technique at the Conservatory of Milan with S. Carneros, E. Dario, R. Rivieri, P. Marisardi, and L. Ghielmi, and won the "Giarda Prize" in Rome in 2001 and other prizes at international organ competitions. In 2006, she formed ORGANDUO with her partner Ai Yoshida. He has been invited to international festivals in Italy, Europe, and Japan to introduce the broad appeal of pipe organs. She has been invited to international festivals in Italy, Europe, and Japan to introduce the wide range of charms of the pipe organ. Currently, he is the organist of San Eliseo Church in Tezero, Fiemme Valley. In addition to his performing activities, he has been involved in organ building at the Andrea Zeni Organ Workshop in his hometown since 2004, and continues to explore the pipe organ as an instrument.
