Nodoka Okizawa x Kyo-Kyo Kyo, long-awaited first release! Nodoka Okizawa is a conductor who is currently attracting attention both at home and abroad; she won the first prize at the Besançon International Conducting Competition in 2019 and the Tokyo International Music Competition in 2018 (and received the Special Prize and the Hideo Saito Award). In April 2023, she will become the first female and youngest ever Permanent Conductor of the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. Seiji Ozawa also highly evaluated her talent and appointed her as the Principal Guest Conductor of the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival before his death. He is scheduled to make his debut with the prestigious Boston Symphony Orchestra in November of this year, and is now attracting keen attention both in Japan and abroad. In addition, his debut disc "Sibelius: Symphony No. 2" (Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra), released by our company in 2023, received high acclaim from various quarters and won the 17th CD Shop Grand Prize 2025 Classic Award. This long-awaited first release with the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, of which Okizawa is currently the Permanent Conductor, features Richard Strauss' epic "Life of a Hero," performed at the March 2025 concert. The magnificent sound and meticulous ensemble, a superb performance unique to Nodoka Okizawa and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, is a must-hear.
