A record-breaking 20 groups and 33 artists gathered to perform a massive 22-minute, 50-second medley that became the highlight of the show. “It’s finally time for the main event. This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. For this year’s ‘Christmas Promise,’ we’ve decided to go all out and do it. But that means we’ll be involving even more people. “We’ve put together a recap of the process so far, so please take a look.” Following these words, a documentary film chronicling the project’s development was screened, after which the main segment, “22’50’,” was performed. Moved to tears by the breathtaking performance—in which artists spanning generations and genres came together as one—Oda himself was overcome with emotion, and the venue erupted in loud cheers and applause. The program’s bold content—including *22’50″*—was highly acclaimed and later won the Excellence Award for Television Entertainment Programs in the Program Category at the 36th Broadcasting Culture Fund Awards.
