In 2026, it will be ten years since the renowned conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt passed away. With the full cooperation of his family, a precious live recording from the 1999 SteirArt Festival is now available. This recording captures the historic concert where Annerose conducted Wagner for the only time in his life. It features Violetta Urmana in Tristan und Isolde's "Prelude and Liebestod" and Tannhäuser (Paris version) "Overture and Bacchanale." This represents the Wagner world Annerose reached after extensive exploration, during a period when he was significantly broadening his repertoire. Further highlights include Schumann's little-known masterpiece, the "Requiem for Minyon," and Mendelssohn's "Mergine" Overture, performed with greater depth and intensity than his earlier Teldec recording. The album also includes Annerose's own commentary delivered during the concert. His insightful and humorous "live voice" commentary offers a unique charm exclusive to this recording. A QR code allows access to the actual scores he used, enabling listeners to trace his annotations and grasp the core of his interpretation.
