A look at the life of the famous pianist who traversed the 20th century: Mieczyslaw Horszowski (1892.6.23-1993.5.22), a Polish-born virtuoso pianist who died in 1993, just before his 101st birthday. A child prodigy from an early age, he performed with Casals and other greats, played chamber music, and devoted himself to educational activities at the Curtis and Marlboro music festivals. After reaching the age of over 90, he again attracted great attention as a soloist, and continued to perform as an active pianist until nearly 100, making him a miracle performer. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of his death, CBS Sony released a rare documentary video of Korshovsky in 1992, and this is the first BD release. The documentary covers the last five years of his life, from 1987 to 1992, and traces the life of this exceptional musician, interweaving interviews with Horshovsky and others involved, master classes, and performances at the Lucerne Festival, Casals Hall, Carnegie Hall, and other venues.
