Description:

As a special project commemorating the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth, Ikuyo Nakamichi recorded all of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas and 5 piano concertos over a period of 4 years from 2003 to 2006, and this box set includes the complete works. The piano sonatas were recorded in parallel with concerts of the complete works at the Saitama Arts Theatre and Philia Hall, and were released in 11 titles and 12 discs. The concerto is by Paavo Järvo. The concerto was performed with the Kammerphilharmonie Bremen conducted by Paavo Järvi. This is the only Beethoven piano concerto ever recorded by the famous duo who embodied the "Beethoven of the 21st century. The recording also includes the Eroica Variations, Variations on a Theme Originally Composed, Turkish March Variations, For Elise, and the Rondo in D major, which was intended to be the last movement of the Second Concerto, and conveys the breadth of Beethoven's piano music. ●15CD+2DVD (DISC1-12=Blu-spec CD2/DISC13-15=SACD hybrid disc (2ch and 5.0Multi), DISC16-17=DVD) ●Recording year: August 11-15, June 3-7, March 26-30, 2003, etc./ Location DISC 16-17: Saitama Arts Theatre Music Hall, Sainokuni Saitama, Hunkhaus Berlin, Bad Kissingen, Grosser Saal, Germany, and other locations.
