Description:
Michie Koyama, a pianist who represents Japan in both popularity and artistic merit, makes her debut with Beethoven works. Her previous release, *Bach: Goldberg Variations* (2017), was highly acclaimed as her first Bach album since her debut in 1987. This new release, however, marks the first Beethoven work in Koyama’s 30-album discography and will be released as a 7-inch vinyl single. Side A features “Für Elise,” a favorite among music lovers, while Side B includes the Rondo WoO 49 and the Bagatelle WoO 56, both composed by Beethoven in his childhood, for a total of three tracks. Recorded on June 3, 2019, at Sony Music Studios. This release marks the first classical analog record released by Sony Music since the company resumed in-house analog production in 2018. Since the spring of 2019, Koyama has been performing the “Beethoven, and…” concert series in six cities across Japan: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
