This is the eighth album by Firewind, led by Gus G., who has become a new generation guitar hero in the heavy metal scene since being selected by Ozzy Osbourne in 2009, and the first album for Sony in Japan. This is the band's first concept album based on the "Battle of Thermopylae" and the "Battle of Salamis" during the "Persian Wars" in their native Greece, and is also the first original album after German vocalist Henning Basse joined the band officially. Gus G.'s technical and brilliant guitar playing needs no more explanation, and his powerful vocals emotionally depict the story of the battle in the history of Greece. For the first time on their eighth album, Gus G. has also hired outside producer Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69, Unisonic) as co-producer, engineer, and lyricist, showing his strong commitment to building the worldview of this work. Firewind transcends time with modern melodic power metal while maintaining traditional heavy metal stylistic beauty. The essential charm of Firewind is clearly presented in this album.
