Following his previous work, Naked Truth, which was nominated for a 2024 Blues Music Award, veteran guitarist Tinsley Ellis presents his second acoustic blues album! The intense slide guitar played on a 1937 National steel guitar and the powerful yet warm fingerpicking on a 1960s Martin acoustic guitar are first-rate. His deep, original blues, inspired by Robert Johnson, Son House, Skip James, and others, is the real deal. Tinsley Ellis was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1957 and raised in Florida. In the 1980s, he returned to his hometown of Atlanta and joined the Alley Cats. In 1981, he formed The Heartfixers with veteran Chicago harmonica player Bob Nelson. They released four albums, including 1986's 'Cool On It', gaining attention. He signed with Alligator in 1988 and made his solo debut with 'Georgia Blue'. He subsequently released four albums, including 1994's 'Storm Warning', earning high acclaim.Even into the 2000s, he consistently released albums on labels like Capricorn and Terrak. In 2005, he returned to Alligator Records, releasing albums like 'Live: Highwayman' and 2009's 'Speak No Evil'. His latest work, 2023's 'Naked Truth', was nominated for a Blues Music Award. Over the years, he has collaborated with and earned the respect of numerous musicians, ranging from legends like Otis Rush and James Cotton to younger artists such as Christone "Kingfish" Ingram.
