This is the fifth album by Lonnie Baker Brooks, one of the leading guitarists in the Chicago blues scene, and his first for Alligator Records. Inheriting the DNA of his father (Lonnie Brookes), who was the signature artist of Alligator, Lonnie Baker Brookes' funky, strong guitars and soulful vocals are fully heard on this masterpiece! Produced by Grammy winner Jim Gaines, the album is backed by Dave Smith (bass) and Steve Potts (drums). Ronnie Baker Brooks is a guitarist born in Chicago in 1967. His father, Lonnie Brooks (father, Ronnie, and son, Ronnie), a leading figure in the Chicago blues scene, and his younger brother, Wayne, are also guitarists in the blues family. After graduating from high school, he began his career as a musician in his father's band and recorded his first live album "Live from Chicago" with his father in 1988. In 1998, he made his late debut with "Golddigger" on Watchdog Records. The album was nominated for a Blues Music Award for Best New Artist. This was followed by "Take Me Witcha" in 2001 and "The Torch" in 2006. His live-trained guitar playing is highly regarded as Chicago's royal style, and he has performed at many festivals in the U.S. and Europe.He has also made guest appearances on albums by many bluesmen, including Elvin Bishop, Billy Branch, Eddie Clearwater, and Coco Montoya. His latest album is "Times Have Changed" from Provogue in 2017.
