The album features live performances by 21 artists, both old and new, including Wilco, Molly Tuttle, Rhiannon Giddens, Lucinda Williams, Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, John Prine, and many more! Mountain Stage is a two-hour music radio show that began in 1983. It is produced by Andy Leidener, Larry Groth, and Frances Fisher for West Virginia Public Broadcasting and distributed by National Public Radio (NPR). Recorded essentially live at the Cultural Center Theater in Charleston, West Virginia, the program has featured countless artists in nearly 1000 broadcasts over 40 years. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Au Boy Records is releasing an edited compilation of archival recordings.Included are Wilco, Molly Tuttle, Rhiannon Giddens, Lucinda Williams, Alison Krauss, Gillian Welch, John Prine, Watch House, Birds of Chicago, Steve Earle, Margo Price, Jason Isbell and many more! Lineup, 21 artists in all!
