The latest release by legendary singer/songwriter Nick Gravenites, who along with Paul Butterfield and Mike Bloomfield (Electric Flag) has been a driving force in the early days of the American white blues scene! Produced by his longtime partner Pete Sears (piano, bass), and featuring Charlie Musclewhite (harmonica), Jimmy Vivino (guitar), and other legends, the newest original songs recorded between 2022 and 2023 are delivered with the flavor and vocals that only a veteran can bring. and vocals that only veterans can bring to the table. Nick Gravenites was born in Chicago in 1938. He emerged as a songwriter with songs such as "Born In Chicago," which was included on the Paul Butterfield Blues Band's 1965 debut album. He then moved to San Francisco and formed Electric Flag with Mike Bloomfield and others, releasing "Long Time Comin'" in 1967 and "Electric Flag" in 1968. He also wrote music for the film "Steel Yard Blues" and other films.He also provided Janis Joplin with songs such as "Buried Alive in the Blues. In the 1980s, he released "Blue Star" in 1980 as a solo artist, "The Usual Suspects" in 1981 as a unit, and "Monkey Medicine" in 1982 as the Grave Nights Cipollina Band.
