This is a high quality blues album with successful producer Tom Hambridge, a Grammy winner. Selwyn Birchwood was born in Florida in 1985, began playing guitar at age 13, and was influenced by Jimi Hendrix. 19 years old, he joined Texas bluesman Sonny Rose's band and learned to play lap steel and lead a band. In 2010, he formed the Selwyn Birchwood Band, which independently released "FL Boy" in 2011 and "Road Worn" in 2013. In 2013, he won the IBC competition and was recognized by Bruce Igloa, who was a judge, and signed with Alligator Records.He released "Don't Call No Ambulance" in 2014, which won the Blues Music Award for Best New Artist. Subsequent releases, "Pick Your Poison" in 2017 and "Living in a Burning House" in 2021, were also critically acclaimed by many media outlets and won Living Blues Awards and Blues Music Awards. It also reached #1 on the blues charts across the board at various radio stations. Since its debut, the band has performed at blues festivals around the world, including North and South America and Europe.
