A collection of seven emotional and technical alternative rock tracks, each with its own unique style, that blends pop rock with the band’s deep love and profound knowledge of their roots—from math rock to alternative rock—featuring a mix of narrative structure and pacing that showcases Rikipi’s one-of-a-kind sound in full force. It also includes a killer cover of “Galaxy Express 999,” the signature song by “Godiego,” the pioneers of Japanese dance rock. Formed in Machida, Tokyo, liquidpeople (commonly known as “Rikipi”) currently perform primarily at live houses in Shimokitazawa. In 2026, they performed at “EmergeFest 2026” in Taichung, Taiwan, and are currently active with an eye toward expanding overseas. Their 7-track mini-album “Teach,” set for release in August 2026, Blending math rock, alternative rock, and more, this work is packed to the brim with their current sound—a pop-infused take on their love and deep understanding of their musical roots, all in the signature Rikipi style. The seven tracks, each distinct in its own way, weave together a narrative of beginning, development, turning point, and conclusion, along with a mix of fast and slow tempos, and emotional, technical alternative rock tracks that showcase Rikipi’s one-of-a-kind style in full force. A highlight is their cover of “Galaxy Express 999,” the signature song by “Godiego”—the founding father of Japanese dance rock, known to nearly every Japanese person as the theme song for the anime Galaxy Express 999—reimagined in their own style, which serves as a key hook for this album.
