Description:

A powerhouse duo—Meiku Hata and Mirai Shida—co-star in this film!! The biggest mistake of their lives: bringing together two people who were never meant to meet… A human suspense drama torn between guilt and friendship! The music by jizue, imbued with melancholy and heartache, stirs the emotions. Yume Nakata (Meiku Hata) commits the biggest mistake of her life. Two months earlier… She thought she had saved a woman who was trying to take her own life, but that night, the woman fell from a building and died. The deceased woman’s only daughter, Mio Osako (Miki Shida), cannot accept the reality that her mother would never have taken her own life, and finds herself on the brink of despair. Since that day, Yume has been crushed by guilt, wondering if she gave her the final push. Mio, meanwhile, despairs over a fate shattered by her mother’s death. One day, these two women meet by chance. And Yume is the only one who realizes that Mio is the daughter of the woman who fell to her death. However, witnessing Mio’s suffering forces Yume to confront the magnitude of her own mistake once again, and out of fear, she cannot bring herself to reveal the truth. "If I hadn't made that mistake that day, your mother might not have died," she thinks. Meanwhile, Mio gradually opens up to Yume—who accepts her pain without pity or hostility—and even begins to see her as a close friend. The strange friendship that blossoms between them continues to grow... Just how far can people forgive a mistake? Can a friendship that blossomed while harboring a great secret truly endure...? A story of "atonement" and "forgiveness" woven by two people who should never have met: one who committed an irreversible mistake, and another who stands on the brink of despair because of it. The music is provided by jizue, an instrumental band based in Kyoto. Their music, which blends melancholy and poignancy, masterfully captures the emotions torn between guilt and friendship.
