Description:
TRIPLET, meaning "triplet," is a unit centered around Mami Ishizuka. True to its name, it's a trio unit that began when Ishizuka approached percussionist Motoyuki Yasui about producing an album. For this album, they were joined by bassist Kiichiro Komobuchi, whose roots lie in jazz and Brazilian music yet transcends genres, and fretless bass specialist Ryoji Orihara. Opening with "Jodhpur Style," composed inspired by Jodhpur, India—known as the "Beautiful Blue City" that Ishizuka visited—the album features covers of the jazz standard "My Funny Valentine" and Ravel's masterpiece "Pavane for a Dead Princess." It also includes Kenji Miyazawa's "Song of the Stars," offering a delicate yet dynamic and sparkling musical world to fully enjoy. The jacket illustration is an original work by Toshiyuki Fukuda.
