A grandiose performance of the classics, with no tricks up their sleeves! The heroic sound of the roaring E-flat major and the overwhelming power of the two classical symphonies. The ALTUS remastered reissue of a long out-of-date recording released on the early days of the Tara label, which is now available for enthusiasts. The original conductor, Arbendt Roth, was a man of strong personality. However, he was also a conductor who approached classical works as if they were classical works, with a clear method of expression. In this Haydn and Mozart, he did not unnecessarily mix up tempi and intensity, but instead created a huge, concentrated core sound and a sturdy, imposing structure. Both pieces are unexpectedly in E-flat major, and the sound and outstanding dependability, which can be said to be the ultimate in fullness, are comparable even to Beethoven's "Hero" at this point. The second movement of the "Drumroll" in C minor is a true acoustic world that could be mistaken for the funeral march of "Hero. The finale is filled with even more vitality, and the strong rhythms are engraved with great force. It is rare to hear a classical symphony with such a great listening experience these days.The overture by Mendelssohn is softly clothed in Romantic freedom and color, and the genius of the music is dashingly played with an exciting body language.
