Beethoven (1770-1827)

Description:

The legendary Russian conductor Nikolai Golovanov (1891-1953), known for his intense and explosive performances, is the charismatic Russian counterpart to Mravinsky, and ALTUS has released his masterfully mastered recording! The performance is a brain-burning, raging performance of unprecedented power produced by the unusual presence of the conductor. The performance of Beethoven's First Symphony is so astonishing that one wonders if such a performance was ever possible. The rich, rich singing in the introduction, and the speed of the rising chords played in forte from time to time in the middle of the song! The tension explodes in the main part, and the music becomes a rage. However, the second theme is a great example of the composer's skill in music making, as he takes a hard brake in the second theme. This is a masterful performance that will blow you away in a storm of all kinds of tricks. The opening of the overture to "Egmont" begins with a raging chord with the addition of a trumpet scream and timpani tremolo. The main section accelerates without regard to the disorder of details, and the trumpet is exposed from time to time. The First Symphony is also overwhelming. The first part of the first symphony is also overwhelming. The fourth movement, like the overture to "Egmont," begins in an unusually frightening manner with the addition of a timpani tremolo. This is a very romantic performance that defies the classical framework." (From the commentary by Naoya Hirabayashi) (From the commentary by Naoya Hirabayashi) King International
