The sound has the composure of a maestro, an exceptional sense of balance, and a clear view of the world. Both performance and recording are excellent. Kenjiro Sakairi's "Bruckner 9" live on CD at last! This is a live recording of Bruckner No. 9 made in January 2018. The previously released No. 5 (ALTL-005), No. 8 (ALTL-006), and No. 3 (ALTL-008) have all been well received. In September 2018, they performed Mahler's "Symphony of a Thousand" at a concert, which was also wonderfully accomplished. Kenjiro Sakairi has been giving one masterful performance after another, and we cannot take our eyes off of him in the future! He has the composure and breathtaking phrasing of a maestro. He played Bruckner's unfinished symphonies with a tempo setting that matched the size and weight of the music. The sound was very clear and all the sounds were well balanced and separated, and the violin interplay effect of the double-wing arrangement was outstanding. The conductor's superb control and the high performance ability of each player were awe-inspiring. The beauty of the third movement is particularly moving.The climax, which tends to be an ear-splitting harmonic scream, is somehow melancholy and supple. Of course, the volume is not low, but the performance is taut and powerful. Both the performance and the recording are excellent, making this Bull 9 a must-see. (1/2) King International
