Reale Accademia di Musica is a progressive rock band formed primarily by members of their predecessor band, Folks, who released their sole original album, *Reale Accademia di Musica*, in 1972. Their melancholic melodies, steeped in a nostalgic atmosphere, captivated the ears of Italian rock fans in Japan. The band was reformed in 2017 by guitarist Pericle Sponzilli, who composed all the tracks on that album. They were joined by Fabio Liberatori, the original keyboardist of *Stadio*, a leading band in the Italian music scene, and have since released *AngeliMutanti* (2018) and *LamediLuce* (2022). Their music possesses a magical power to “stop time” and a charm that captivates the listener’s heart and won’t let go. *The Beginning of Time: The Best of Reale Accademia di Musica* is a best-of album exclusive to Japan, featuring a selection of progressive-style tracks from their post-reformation works. This deluxe edition includes two additional tracks that were previously released overseas only on 12-inch vinyl. The first installment in the Italian Rock Revival series!
